SEGA DIRECT: CLOSING DOWN CD

After few years of onorable videogaming service Sega has decided to close the Sega Direct online store on March 31 (old news). Today Sega announced that from next monday (February 18) it will be possibile to reserve a special celebration CD that will be on sale from March 27 to March 31: just five days! I think any Sega and Dreamcast fan should buy one and maybe Sega manager will remember what made their brand so GREAT...
SEGA: YAKUZA 3 INSTANT NOODLES

Today a new instant noodle inspired by Yakuza 3 has been announced in Japan! The package contains the dried udon and tree bags with dried vegetables, souce and spice powder.
SEGA ADULT GOODS?

A couple of days ago Sega released a new UFO Catcher price: a maid costume of Mikuru Asahina one of the characters of the Haruhi Suzumiya anime series (she always wears a maid outfit while brewing and serving tea at the school club).
Actually the design of the costume made by Sega is different from the original maid outfit dressed by Mikuru in the anime and looks like one of the many sexy (see trought) maid costumes on sale in Japanese sex shops (note: the red shirt in the photo is not included in the costume package)!

IPOD SONIC

(via Business Wire / Engadget Japan) - A couple of days ago Sega announced that Sonic The Hedgehog is now available for play on the new iPod nano with video, the iPod classic and the fifth generation iPod. Sonic fans can purchase and download the game from the iTunes Store for $4.99 (www.itunes.com). Sonic has been designed specifically for the iPod and is available on the 22 iTunes Stores around the world.
“Sonic The Hedgehog is one of the most beloved video game characters of all time,” said Simon Jeffery, President and COO of SEGA of America, “And with the installed base that iPod enjoys Sonic now becomes available to a whole new group of casual and hardcore gamers just in the time for the holidays.”
Similar to music and video content on the iTunes Store, customers simply find the game on iTunes and click the "Gift This Game" button.
CHRISTMAS NIGHTS PS2

(via Kotaku) Sega of Japan has confirmed that the limited Christmas NiGHTS edition of the original game will be included in the PS2 port as a "Christmas Dream", unlocked by completing the standard edition of the game. Seems that the best PS3 game next year will be a PS2 port of a Sega Saturn classic...

Alcuni appassionati del mitico Dreamcast hanno postato alcuni video in cui il controller del DC stile canna da pesca viene utilizzato in giochi come Virtua Tennis o Ready To Rumble in un modo simile al Wiimote.
In realtà si tratta di tecniche di gioco già presentate in giappone 4 o 5 anni fa durante alcune trasmissioni televisive dedicate ai videogiochi, ma questi video sono comunque una testimonianza di quanto il Dreamcast fosse innovativo rispetto alle altre console dell'epoca...
