Gunkanjima: Battleship Island 1/1400 model kit

Last weekend I while visiting the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2010 I spotted this wonderful model kit replica of the Gunkanjima: Battleship Island produced by Aoshima. The island has been made famous in 2003 by the Japanese photographer Saiga Yuji book "Gunkanjima: Awakening of a Dead Island" and has been featured in videogames like Killer 7, Siren 2 and movies like Battle Royal 2.
The reproduction is really detailed and the abandoned concrete buildings and the sea wall can be observed trough a magnifying lens.

HPI - Bishoujo RC Cars - Itasha Radio Controlled Model Cars

The Japanese illustrator Washio Naohiro (he is the mecha designer of a couple of Gundam TV series) started a collaboration with the RC car company HPI RACING: the model car brand that started to release the very first Itasha RC Cars featuring Moe anime like Kannagi Crazy Shrine Maidens and Shokugan no Shana.

Few days ago, visiting an Hobby shop in Tokyo, I discoverd a special Tankers "CABALLERO" - US M4A3 SHERMAN TANK Model kit + Jacket Set produced by Tamiya in collaboration with The Real Mccoy's. The price tag is 80.000 Yen but I'm sure this should be bought by every serious modeller out there... (not, I'm not serious, since I still prefer to use the 80.000 yen to buy Japanese AV DVDs and Bishoujo games in Akiba)...
