VIDEOGAME SALES IN AKIBA!
di Frankie (01/13/2008 - 16:24)

(via Samurai Girl) For less than 10$ Julie bought a very special fukubukuro box from Super Potato. She found a total of 76 Famicom, VirtualBoy, Saturn, Dreamcast, Super Famicom, Playstation, Gameboy, Pc-Engine games in the box! I think this is the best fukuburo ever found in Akiba!!

If you like a post on Beside Games you should click on the GOOD button. You can click one time to 16 times! Of course for this I gave to Julie 16 clicks!!
BESIDE GAMES: Julie Watai
di Frankie (01/06/2008 - 06:17)

Beside Games is an "invite only" community with a lot of famous people from TV, Music, Design and Underground worlds and I just found out that our friend idol and "otaku Photographer" Julie got a blog on it.

As always Julie is posting really cool staff from her trips in the otaku underground (like the Vocaloid 2 Miku doujin DS game I posted last year). Beside the super cute Julie, there are also other friends on this community like Japanese super star designers like Ani "Nendo" Fujimoto and Tei from FuriFuri. If you can read some Japanese I think Beside Games will be a regular read during 2008!
7.1.2008 Update: Today Julie is number 3 beside a member of the legendary Japanese group Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.
If you visit her page on Beside Games don't forget to click the orange button under the High Score of each post (limit is 16 clicks for each post) .
TOKUSATSU: The Metal Princess Cuo
di Frankie (09/26/2007 - 06:50)

Our super otaku photographer and idol Julie (aka Amano Ai) has just finished shooting The Metal Princess Cuo (メタルプリンセス キュオ): her very first tokusatsu movie. Tokusatsu (特撮) is a Japanese word that literally means "special effects." The term is a contraction of the Japanese phrase "tokushu satsuei" (meaning "special photography") and It is primarily used to refer to live-action Japanese film and television dramas that make use of special effects. The Metal Princess Cuo DVD will be released at the end of the year and we look forward to see Julie wearing her yellow sexy costume!
The director of this new "super heroine" master piece is Takauji Motoharu from the legendary Shin Iizawa's Zen Pictures.
This is a sample video of Gravure Heroine DVD's.
SAMURAI GIRL PHOTOBOOK
di Frankie (09/02/2007 - 03:38)

Samurai Girl photobook from Julie (aka Amano Ai) is nearly sold out on Amazon.com
Seems that the success of Ai chan new Idol DVD is pushing a lot of idol fans to buy her
photobook too. We hope that sooner or later Julie will produce Amano Ai DVD cause it would be really cool to watch an idol DVD shooted in places like the toys room or geisen featured in these photos instead of exotic places like Bali or Hawaii...

Amano Ai (天野あい) Part 2
di Frankie (09/01/2007 - 06:33)

Exciter Magazine featured one page deciated to Amano Ai DVD and Julie art photos.
There are other magazines and newspaper who coeverd the event but I can't find out all the names... damn, I should study more kanji!
Anyway I'm pretty impressed by Ai Chan because she is getting a lot of coverage without the support of a big media company. I think her really cool artworks are helping being noticed by magazine editors and journalists.
