di Frankie (12/21/2008 - 18:28)

Today I made my weekly visit to pop life department. m's (my favourite adult store in Akiba) and found the new condoms + lotion produced by my super favourite Japanese illustrator: Mizuko Junko!! These condoms got a smooth, lubricated surface in a beautifully designed packag! Each box comes with a trading card designed by Junko Mizuno. Don't you think this is the chance to have more sex and compelte your collection of Junko's masterpieces?!

di Frankie (12/21/2008 - 08:17)

Ok, I now that posting videogames themed bentos is so 2007 but I'm (still) a Game Watch collector and right now I'm playing Professor Layton everyday on the Chuo sen to Akiba so I couldn't resist! I love you Anna the Red!!

Yes, it's Super Smash Bros Brawl...

VORC RECORDS: Overlapping Spiral at Synra Dome 3D Planetarium!
di Frankie (12/18/2008 - 08:47)

Yesterday I went to the press preview show organized by VORC RECORDS at the beautiful Synra Dome at Tokyo Space/Science Museum (Super Lisa Katayama posted about his Planetarium on io9. This dome has been created by two guys: Hikaru Okuda set up the hardware while Toshiyuki Takahei does all the software programming, including hooking the images up with complex calculations done by a giant supercomputer called the MDM, Molecular Dynamics Machine, which sits just outside the theater). The chiptune show is really outstanding and after you put on the 3D glasses you take a dive in a psychedelic retro futuristic 3D universe with simply the best chiptune/8bit soundtrack I ever heard in the last 10 years! Outani San, the mastermind of VORC Records, has really took the chiptune scene to the next level and BLIP FESTIVAL should really do something with him to make the US chiptune scene reach the SUBARASHII level of the Tokyo's VORC chiptuners!
If you are in Tokyo on 21th December you can miss this show!

Gakugeikai - Doujin
di Frankie (12/07/2008 - 08:00)

Some friends are working on GAKUGEIKAI: a new doujin manga that will be released during the last day of Comiket. Behind this manga there are a couple of famous mecha and videogame designers so I'm pretty sure it will be really succesfull!!! It's a shame that on 30th December, when Comiket will open I will be on a plane sipping a good sake while flying to London... _
GEAR OF WAR 2: RC Tank
di Frankie (12/05/2008 - 02:47)

Brian from Big Squid RC reviewed the Centaur RC Tank that came with the
limited edition of GEAR OF WAR 2 sold by BEST BUY. He is a really cool guy who got a super retrogames collection (he got the second biggest collection of PACMAN memorabilia and he worked on titles like: Street Fighter, Spy Hunter, Mortal Kombat, Fight Night, Dragon Ball Z, to name a few).

Need For Speed Google Maps version!
di Frankie (12/02/2008 - 04:21)

(via Modellismo Hobby Media) Need for Speed Undercover it's not a great racing game at all but the Japanese distributor is doing a great marketing job with a promotional web game based on Google Maps. The first player who will find a Porsche in the tokyo map will win 1 million yen: way more fun than playing the actual console version! _
